I can’t say I’m sad to see 2025 go.
For me, it was a year of head-down, long-term work—the kind where you’re doing the right things but haven’t quite seen the payoff yet. If you run an interior design business, you know that season well. You’re designing, drafting, managing clients, answering emails, sourcing, schlepping… all at once.
That’s exactly why I love sharing small, practical resources that actually make your day easier.
So here’s this week’s CAD Block, Book Recommendation, and One Cool Thing. Nothing overwhelming- just useful
1. This week's custom CAD block
A simple vase of fresh flowers, with three levels of detail depending on what works best for your drawings.
• Use the most detailed block when working at scales larger than 1/2".
• At 1/2" scale or smaller, use the medium- or low-detail version.
I recommend placing accessory blocks like this on a lighter lineweight so they support the drawing without pulling focus. These are the kinds of small, intentional choices that make a set feel clearer and more professional—without adding more work.
2. Book recommendation
As a longtime Remodelista fan, this book has lived on my shelf since it was released in 2017. Every January, when the urge to purge and organize kicks in, I find myself coming back to it. It’s a great resource for sustainable, beautiful, non-plastic organizing solutions. Practical without feeling sterile.
3. One cool thing
I’ve always been intrigued by astrology, but last year I finally took a deeper dive. If you want to avoid the more chaotic corners of Instagram astrology, I highly recommend The Astrology Hub Podcast. It’s thoughtful, grounded, and honestly worth a listen for the 2026 forecasts alone.
