Fiddle Leaf Figs + Steven Gambrel + A Sconce I’m Loving
Happy Friday!
This week I’ve been pushing harder to get back into real life after being sick — which means getting back into the yoga studio. It’s wild how much a lack of real exercise affects my energy levels.
Annoying when the professionals are right.
Alright, let’s get into it:
- This Week's Free CAD Block
I’m always blown away by how much living plants and trees add to the vibe and comfort of a space — and it’s no different in your interior elevations.
This week, I created two Fiddle Leaf Fig trees for you to add life (and a sense of scale) to your drawings. These kinds of scale views work so well in design presentations.

2. Book Recommendation
Steven Gambrel has a unique talent for rebirthing forgotten design details and giving them an unexpected, modern twist. I could spend 20 minutes dissecting the details in a single image from this substantial tome.

3. Something I'm enjoying this week
The Emerson Sconce from Hennepin Made (Twin Cities ❤️).
Not only is this subtly textured glass sconce wet-rated, but it also puts out an impressive 1400 lumens. Beauty and function coexisting? I’m sold.

I’d love to hear from you! Hit reply if there’s a specific block you wish existed, a CAD question you’re struggling with, or anything you want to see in these emails. I read every response and genuinely want to help.
Really glad you’re here.
