Does any of this sound familiar?

You’re experienced, capable, and good at what you do—but AutoCAD still feels harder than it should. Not because you don’t know the software, but because the system around it was never fully built.

No drawing consistency across the team

Files are set up differently depending on who touched them last. Notes, dimensions, layers, and blocks aren’t consistent, so no one ever knows where to look for things—or how something is supposed to be done. Reviewing or handing off drawings takes longer than it should because you’re constantly re-orienting.

Every project involves unnecessary cleanup

Even when the drawings are “done,” there’s a final scramble to fix lineweights, adjust text, standardize notes, or make things presentable for clients and contractors. You’ve learned to bake in extra time because you know the system will need attention at the end.

AutoCAD drains focus instead of supporting your work

Instead of spending your energy on design decisions, you’re managing workarounds, remembering past fixes, or correcting small inconsistencies that add up. AutoCAD becomes something you manage—not a tool that quietly does its job.

Guess what...you are not alone

Almost every interior designer I work with learned AutoCAD in pieces. A class here, a YouTube video there, maybe some inherited office standards that never quite made sense. Over time, that patchwork turns into a system that works… but only if you’re the one managing it.

I’ve seen solo designers spend hours reworking files they’ve already solved once. I’ve seen small teams lose time because no one knows where things live, how notes should read, or which details are the “right” ones. And I’ve seen experienced designers quietly assume this is just part of the job.

It doesn’t have to be.

The designers who go through the aCADemy aren’t looking for shortcuts or tricks. They want clarity. They want a drawing setup that’s consistent, easy to reuse, and understandable by anyone on their team—or on the job site. Once that foundation is in place, AutoCAD stops being something they wrestle with and starts becoming a reliable part of their process.

Here’s a walkthrough of the system and what you’ll get inside aCADemy.

Imagine if AutoCAD finally felt settled.

Imagine opening a new project and not wondering where to start. Your files are already set up, your layers and annotations are consistent, and your drawings follow a clear internal logic—one you don’t have to rethink every time.

Imagine handing off drawings without a mental checklist running in the background. Your notes read cleanly, your lineweights make sense, and contractors can quickly understand what you’re communicating—without follow-up emails or clarification calls.

Imagine your team knowing exactly where things live and how they’re done. Reviews are faster. Edits are cleaner. AutoCAD fades into the background so you can focus on design decisions instead of managing the tool.

That’s what happens when your drawings are built on a solid, repeatable system.

From reinventing the wheel to a repeatable system

Instead of rebuilding files and second-guessing decisions, you start every project with a clear, proven setup. Templates, standards, and structure do the heavy lifting—so your drawings are consistent from day one.

From “good enough” drawings to confident handoffs

Your plans read clearly, your notes and dimensions are consistent, and your intent comes through without explanation. Contractors understand what you mean, revisions decrease, and you stop worrying about how your drawings will be interpreted.

From managing AutoCAD to letting it support your work

AutoCAD stops draining your attention. With fewer workarounds and less cleanup, your mental energy shifts back to design, decision-making, and running your business—not fixing avoidable issues.

If you want AutoCAD to feel clear, consistent, and supportive of your work—not something you constantly manage—this is what the aCADemy was built for.

The aCADemy is a complete drawing system, not a collection of tips. It gives you the structure, standards, and setup needed to create repeatable, legible drawings—whether you work solo or with a team.

If you’re ready to stop reinventing your workflow and start from a solid foundation, you’re in the right place.

About Me

I’ve spent over 20 years working as a residential and interior designer, using AutoCAD daily in real client work. Like many designers, I didn’t learn AutoCAD through a single, cohesive system—I picked it up over time, project by project, office by office. What I learned early on is that most frustration with AutoCAD isn’t about the software itself, but about the lack of clear structure behind it.

I created the aCADemy to teach the system I wish I’d been given sooner: a thoughtful, repeatable approach to drawing setup, standards, and workflow that actually supports design work. This course isn’t about shortcuts or flashy tricks. It’s about building drawings that are consistent, legible, and easy to hand off—whether you’re working solo or with a team. Everything in the aCADemy is based on real-world use, tested across years of projects, and designed to make AutoCAD feel calm, reliable, and finally under control.

Here's how the curriculum breaks down
